RIPLEY, Ohio — Search crews were back on the water along the Ohio River Tuesday morning to look for two missing Troy men.
Marty Stanaford, 19, and Cameron Buerger, 20, made a trip to Ripley, Ohio, along with family, to go canoeing.
They disappeared Sunday. Their cooler was found near the Meldahl Dam.
According to reports, the men sent a text around 6 p.m. Sunday and were last seen by someone near shore 30 minutes later.
A female friend says she didn’t go on the canoe with them, but she watched them leave and even talked to them by cell phone while they were out on the water
Both of the men can swim, but they didn’t have life jackets.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources committed two boats to the search at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
