Nov. 19

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A resident in the 3400 block of Ginghamsburg Frederick Road, Monroe Twp., called to report nine of his 11 chickens were killed and his rabbit was also missing. He advised his son-in-law and grandson saw the neighbor’s dogs in his back yard this morning with the dead chickens and they had to chase the dogs off.

THEFT: Ryan Hufford was charged with theft in the 5000 block of Croft Mill Road, Bradford.

Nov. 21

FIRE AT PARK: A deputy responded to the Farrington Reserve Park on an assist fire complaint. Dispatch advised that someone had started a campfire under the Peterson Road bridge by the river. A deputy made contact with individual who started the fire, Joshua Monnier, and he was warned for having a fire on park property.

VEHICLE STOLEN: A resident in the 1200 block of Spruce Street, Troy, reported her vehicle was stolen.

Nov. 22

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of Phillip Drive, Tipp City, on a criminal damage complaint of a damaged blow up yard ornament. After further investigation, it was found that two yard ornaments had been damaged. No suspects or leads at this time.

Nov. 23

OVI: A deputy responded to an assist squad on the northbound I-75 off ramp at mile marker 74. The deputy located a male later identified as the defendant Timothy G. Ramsey passed out in the listed vehicle. After further investigation, Ramsey was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for OVI.

TRESPASSING: The SRO for Upper Valley Career Center was contacted by the environmental teacher of the Upper Valley Career Center in reference to finding trail cameras on the school property. This matter is being investigated.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A deputy responded to the 400 block of South Main Street, Laura for a criminal damage complaint.

Nov. 24

ANIMAL COMPLAINT: Deputies were dispatched on the report of a car versus horse accident in the Ginghamsburg village area on South County Road 25-A. Upon further investigation, Dennis Stankus was cited with two counts of animals at-large.

Nov. 25

POSSESSION: George Harper, a resident of Florida, was cited for marked lanes, DUS and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in the area of Troy-Urbana and Todd Lane, Troy.

HOUSE FIRE: Deputies were dispatched to 1230 E. Statler Road, Springcreek Township, in reference to a barn fire. Deputy Allread was the first unit on the scene. Deputy Allread reported he could see the barn on the south side of the residence was fully engulfed in flames and partially collapsing on itself. The barn was approximately 15 feet south of the residence. The flames where blowing towards the back side of the house. Deputy Allread attempted to knock on the door to wake up the occupants inside the home. There was no answer. According to the report, Deputy Allread could see smoke inside the home through the front window. Deputy Underwood arrived on scene. Deputy Allread reportedly attempted to open the front door but it was locked and then kicked open the front door and made entry inside.

Deputy Underwood and Deputy Allread found the occupants inside the home and advised them of the fire.

Fire investigator Timothy Schreadley was called to the scene to conduct further investigation.

Nov. 26

TRESPASSING: Two males were warned for trespassing while hunting in the area of 6200 block of Rudy Road, Tipp City.

THEFT: A theft report was made in the 6800 block of State Route 48, Covington.

Nov. 27

THEFT: Deputies responded to the 9500 block of Country Club Road Piqua, on the report of a burglary.

CITIZEN ASSIST: A deputy responded to Covington Bradford Road near State Route 48 for a person threatening to jump off a bridge. The person was talked off the bridge by a witness who reported the incident. The person was then transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
