John H. Lasner

John was born in Prussa and was a tailor by trade. He applied and
received a pention on 20 March 1821 while living in Miami County Ohio.
He was in the British service under Cornwall, was captured at Yorktown
and then excaped at the prospect of exchange of prisoners because he did
not want to return to British Service and in fact wished U.S. Citizenship.
He changed his name to John H. Lauderbach, under which name he enlisted
for a three year term in June 1782, at Stony Point, New York, in a company
commanded by Captain John Moody in the Reginment of Artillery in The New
York Line, under Colonel John Lamb. He served until June 1784, when he
was discharged at West Point.
