David Manson
1753-1836
He was born in County Antrim Ireland. In America he enlisted during
July 1776 in York County Pennsylvania, and served as a private in The York
County Militia. He saw action with Captain Savage's Company under Colonal
Smith; then with Captian W.W. Corby's Company under Colonel McAllister
in September 1776, then in January 1778 he served with Cpatin John Rippy's
Company under Colonel McAllister. He also served in the War of 1812.
Davin died in Miami County Ohio and was buried in the Curtis Cemetery
(aka Brown School House Cemetery) in Lostcreek Township. He had came to
Miami County in 1807 and his log cabin was used by the neighbors as a fort
aginst the Indians.
