John North

John North 1754-c1850
John was born in Virginia and moved to Georga before the Revolution.
He volunteered in 1774-1776 under Captin Alexander Irwin in South Carolina,
and was a Ranger on the South Carolina- Georga border. He was a messenger
and frequently in danger from the British Troops. He received a land grant
for 287 acres in Washington County Georga. He moved from there to Miami
County Ohio in 1805. He served in Miami County as a grand juror during
the September Term 1815, Common Pleas Court.
John left Miami County Ohio and moved to Marion County Indiana in
1822, where he applied for a pension in 1838. It is thought that he died
there around 1850.
