Abraham Thomas
1755-1843
Abraham was born in Culpepper County Virginia. He was a blacksmith
and came to Miami County Ohio in 1805. He died in Miami County in 1843
and is buried in the Thomas Cemetery.
Abraham served as a private in both Pennsylvania and Virginia. He
was a scout with daniel Boon in Kentucky, and fought with General George
Rogers Clerk at the battle of Piqua on the Mad River 8 August 1780, and
again with Clark at Piqua Towns on the Great Miami River, November 1872.
He also served during the Indian Wars on the frontier with Captain Michael
Cressap, in the summer of 1774, and n the fall of that same year took part
Lord Dunmore's war with an expedition from Virginia into Ohio.
