Michael was born in Wales. In America he was a private in Captain
Hall's Company. He came to Miami County in 1801 and was the first settler
in what is now Newton Township, Miami County. His wife's maiden name was
Barbara Sumce.
Michael died during 1819 and is buried in the cemetery at Pleasant
Hill, Newton Township, Miami County Ohio.
