DINSMORE,
ROBERT W. - Age 96, of Tipp City, Ohio, died
Thursday, March 16, 2000, in Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. He
is survived by his wife of 72 years, Helen S. (Schmidt) Dinsmore; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Joanna and Ezra Rockwell of Independence, Missouri, Judith and
Don Dicken of New Carlisle, Ohio; three grandchildren, Linda and husband, David
Norris, Neal Thomas Rockwell and Dan Robert Dicken. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Allen M. and Nettie (Keller) Dinsmore; three sisters and
four brothers. Mr. Dinsmore was born in Miami county and was a lifelong
resident of Bethel Township. He was a 1922 graduate of Bethel High School
and a graduate of Wittenberg University, earning a BA and MA degree in
Education. He returned to Bethel High School, where he taught for 35
years, some of these years serving as Principal and Superintendent of Schools.
He tutored many students. He served as past president of the Miami County Teacher's Association. He researched and authored, "The History of Bethel Township." He was a former member of the Farm Bureau Council of Miami County and was a member of the Alcony Grace Church and a Sunday School Teacher and choir member for many years. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and flower grower. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in the First United Methodist Church of New Carlisle with Reverend Kenneth L. Galdeen officiating. Burial in Bethel Cemetery, Phoneton, Ohio. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday in the TROSTEL, CHAPMEN & CHRISTMAS FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle. Contributions may be made to the Bethel High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, or to the church of your choice.
