BROWN, SYLVIA JUNE - The Reverend David Matevia, pastor of
the First Lutheran church at Troy, officiated at funeral services
in Deeter-Baird funeral home on Thursday afternoon for Sylvia June Brown.
Miss Brown passed away on Tuesday at
Piqua Manor where she had been a patient for some months. She had formerly
lived at 130 S. Oxford Street in Troy. A
native of Brandt, she was the daughter of the lat Hiram and Harriett Gantz
Brown. She was an alumnus of Bethel high school
in the Class of 1902. She had been an employee for many years of the State
of Ohio in the department for Aid for the Aged and Dependent Children and with
the Red Cross. She was also employed in
the Dayton Welfare department. Survivors include her sister, Miss Irma Brown,
and four nieces, including Mrs. Fleta Zollars and Mrs. John Campbell of Bethel
township. Burial was in the Bethel
cemetery at Phoneton.
