Trojans sweep Skyhawks
After weathering the storm at the beginning of the season, the Trojans are playing like a team that knows what it's capable of.

Troy ran off its fifth straight victory Thursday after starting the year 0-2, only dropping one game in the entire match in a 5-0 shutout of the Fairborn Skyhawks.

Vikes open CCC play with landmark win
In the process of picking up their first Cross County Conference win of the season Thursday, the Miami East Vikings pulled off a first of another kind.

"We'd never beaten Mississinawa Valley since we entered the CCC, so this was a great win for us," Miami East coach John Cash said.

A strong beginning

Showing some 'tude
Even late in the second game, after the team had dropped 14 of 15 points due to bouts of miscommunication and bad timing between setters and hitters, the Troy Trojans still played with attitude.

"The girls wanted to send a message that they weren't just going to roll over," Troy interim coach Dave Riley said. "We scored some points late in that game. The girls said, 'We're in Troy, not Greenville. Let's show them what that means.'"
