TROY — July will be a busy month for the Troy Civic Band.

The first, full-length concert by the new Troy Civic Jazz Band will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at the new Treasure Island Park amphitheatre. Bill McIntosh will lead the 16-piece ensemble in a concert entitled “A Salute To Count Basie.”

Troy High School alumnus and recent Morehead State University graduate Korry Friend will be the featured drummer on the concert finale.

On July 17, Kathy McIntosh will lead the full Troy Civic Band in an all-Disney concert entitled, “It All Started With A Mouse.” The 7 p.m. concert, also at Treasure Island Park, will feature Disney favorites old and new.

“Everyone is invited to wear their Mickey ears and Disney apparel to the concert for an evening of family fun!” said Kathy McIntosh.

Concerts by The Troy Civic Band and Jazz Band are brought to the public by a grant from The Troy Foundation, the city of Troy and private contributions.

The concerts all are free and handicapped accessible.
