Entrance ramp to close
TIPP CITY — On Oct. 25, ODOT will be closing the south bound entrance ramp at 8:30 a.m. from State Route 571 to I-75 to make repairs to asphalt at the top of the entrance ramp. The closure will be at Mile Marker 68 and the closure will be from 8:30 a.m. Oct. 25th until 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26.

TROY — The Friends of the Troy- Miami County Public Library will sponsor their semi-annual fall book sale Friday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Miami County Fairgrounds, 650 N. County Road 25-A. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
A members-only preview night will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. New memberships may be purchased at the door that evening or ahead of time at the library. The cost is $5 per individual and $9 for a family.
A great selection of books, puzzles, DVDs, special titles, and a large selection of old books are available with prices starting at 25 cents. Sunday is $1 per bag of books and all specials are half- price.

TROY — Miami County Locally Grown will hold a public fundraiser at the Raise Your Brush painting studio in Troy at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20. “Pumpkins” will be the featured painting that reflects the theme, “Locally Grown Foods.”
At 6 p.m., meet and greet local food growers , producers and customers who will be in attendance and familiarize yourself with local food by tasting free samples of local foods and beverages that will be offered at the event provided by the growers and producers.
A basket raffle will also be held during the event that will allow attendees to take home their own baskets of local goodies.

The funds raised during the event will be used to support the growth of Miami County Locally Grown, a year-round, online farmers market serving Miami County and surrounding communities.

YMCA offers class previews
MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County YMCA Piqua Branch is offering free previews of its Fall II session classes, including:
Drums Alive: This class combines movement with the power of drumming. It’s a workout for the entire body as well as a powerful tool for stress reduction and mental balance. (6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19; 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22)
BARRE Connect: Participants will “connect” the components of ballet and dance technique, yoga postures, functional strength exercises and cardiovascular training in a fun, total body workout. (9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22)
Feel free to drop in and check out one or more of these classes, which are open to members and non-members.
Fall II session starts Oct. 24. Member registration starts Oct. 17, and non-member registration starts Oct. 20.
