MONROE TOWNSHIP — Resolutions passed by the Monroe Township Trustees at their Dec. 5 regular board meeting included the setting of 2017 rental rates for township properties at the downtown office building and the Maple Hill Cemetery house rental; and agreeing to set cemetery rates for purchase of graves, burials, foundations, and related items or services with no change from the published 2016 rates.
The board also authorized the Monroe Township Trustees and Fiscal Officer to attend the 2017 Ohio Township Association Winter Conference in Columbus, from Jan. 25-27, and for the fiscal officer to pay or reimburse costs for accommodations, mileage and approved meals permitted in the Ohio Revised Code.
Other resolutions passed Dec. 5 dealt with a motion to pay the 2017 Ohio Township Association dues for the three trustees and the fiscal officer totaling $300; payment of current bills equaling $42,011.45; and acceptance of the financial status report from the end of November 2016 and the bank reconciliation of Oct. 31, 2016, as presented by the township fiscal officer.
It was noted that assessments have been mailed out to residents of Country Estates East for the project being conducted by the Monroe Township Water and Sewer District Board of Trustees. Those residents affected are invited to the next water and sewer district’s board meeting should they have any questions about these assessments or any other questions pertaining to this project. That meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12 in the township meeting room, 6 E. Main St., Tipp City.
The township maintenance staff has been preparing for the approaching winter season by hauling in several loads of road salt to use on township roads and several loads of gravel to use in Maple Hill Cemetery; and attending to final mowing sessions for the year.
The next Monroe Township Trustees board meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19 in the township meeting room, 6 E. Main St., Tipp City. An end of the year meeting for the trustees will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, also in the board meeting room.
All township offices and facilities will be closed in recognition of the Christmas holiday on Monday, Dec. 26, and for New Years, on Monday, Jan. 2. The board will shift the regular meeting in January to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 that will include a reorganizational meeting just prior to the regular board meeting. The trustees meetings are always open to the public in the township’s meeting room.
