TMS director resigns

Plans to pursue developing property

Staff Reports

TROY — The executive director of Troy Main Street has resigned.

John Wilson, owner of the Hatfield House property in downtown Troy, has decided to pursue his interests as a property developer effective immediately.

Wilson determined that his continued interest to invest in downtown Troy could potentially result in a conflict for the organization.

Wilson had been with Troy Main Street since April 2016, and had previously served on the board of directors of TMS for four years and also served as past president of the non-profit organization.

“We wish John the best and appreciate the time and effort he put forth with Troy Main Street. John has been instrumental in growing our membership and community support,” said board president en Redick.

The Troy Main Street Board of Trustees is currently reviewing options for leadership of the organization. During the transition, the board will oversee operations.

Troy Main Street is a non-profit organization promoting the economic revitalization of downtown Troy. Managing the downtown business recruitment and retention program, improving the visual image of downtown and organizing downtown community events are all part of the Main Street effort.
