PIQUA — Edison State Community College will present a program on Wednesday, April 26 in recognition of Administrative Professional Day, which salutes the many contributions of support staff throughout the area.
Sponsored by the Office Systems and Administration Advisory Committee at Edison State, the program is open to all office support professionals, including administrative assistants, executive assistants, office managers, and other employees who provide secretarial or administrative support for one or multiple supervisors. Supervisors and managers of those administrative professionals are encouraged to attend with their valued employees.
Those interested in participating will need to register by April 17. The cost to attend is $35 per person, which includes admission to all sessions, a buffet lunch and refreshments, and entry into the drawing for door prizes. The event runs from 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be held at Edison State’s Piqua Campus. Limited reserved parking will be available.
The day’s event schedule this year will include eight breakout sessions addressing a variety of pertinent topics: “Celebrate You: A Plan of Action,” “Ideas for Coping with Workplace Stress,” “Digital Etiquette-The Do’s and Don’ts,” “Internet Safety,” “Dress for Success–Professional Image,” “Office Professionalism,” and “Skills to Look Like a Professional.”
“This will be the 25th year that we have held an event for Administrative Professionals at Edison State,” said Dr. Paul Heintz, interim vice president of Academic Affairs at Edison State. “We design this event as a celebration of the contributions and value that all administrative professionals bring to all work environments. We partner with corporate sponsors whose financial support makes this day possible.”
This year’s corporate sponsors include Emerson; Greenville National Bank; Hobart/ITW Food Group; the City of Piqua; Upper Valley Career Center-Adult Division; and Wilson Health.
The featured speaker at this year’s program will be Stacy Pettit, an accomplished speaker, trainer, and licensed professional counselor in private practice that has appeared regionally and at various statewide conferences and meetings.
Pettit’s presentation entitled “Celebrate You!” will encourage attendees to take the time to acknowledge their growth and progress. With her engaging and passionate personality, Pettit will deliver content that the audience can immediately apply when they return to their home and office.
