July 19

FRAUD: A deputy took a report of fraudulent credit cards being used at Big Mike’s Gas and Go at 8561 South State Route 201 in Bethel Township Miami County Ohio. Staff at the location advised of two incidents where multiple fraudulent cards were used by the same individual to purchase cigarettes.

JAIL INCIDENT: A deputy responded to the Miami County Jail located at 201 W. Main Street in Troy for an assault complaint. After further investigation two inmates were charged with disorderly conduct.

OVI: A deputy responded to the area of Piqua Troy Road and West Peterson Road on a complaint of a vehicle that ran off the roadway. The deputy made contact with the female driver, and after further investigation she was taken into custody for the suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

TRAFFIC STOP: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on the listed vehicle for driving on a closed road in the area of Ross Road and Sullivan Road, Bethel Twp. Subsequently the driver was cited for the violation and being in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. One of the passengers was also cited for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.

OVI: A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle crash with no injuries in the 9000 block of Frederick Garland Road, West Milton. The reporting party advised that the driver was possibly under the influence of alcohol. After further investigation, the female driver, Kerrissa Middleton, 24, of Tipp City, was charged with OVI, Child Endangering and failure to control.

July 23

BIKE PATH DRUG OFFENSE: A deputy was patrolling the bike path in the area of the 16 mile marker in Piqua. The deputy located five subjects walking in front of the deputy smoking marijuana. After further investigation four of the subjects were charged and the marijuana was placed into evidence.

JAIL INCIDENT: A deputy responded to the incarceration facility for a assault complaint. While at the IF the correction staff advised they might need the deputy to take a inmate to the hospital. While waiting to confirm taking the inmate to the hospital another assault took place. A female inmate will be charged with assault.

July 24

BURGLARY: A resident in the 800 block of Geiserman Road, Springcreek Twp. called to report a male arrived at their residence and asked to use the phone to call for a ride. He and his wife allowed him the use of their phone. They then allowed the male, Rodney Allen, to wait on their back porch for his ride to arrive. The homeowner went inside and noticed there was a phone missing and money. Allen was arrested for burglary and transported to the Miami County Jail.

WARRANT: At the Miami County Municipal Court, a deputy made contact with Joseph W. Schmidt. I had knowledge that he had an active warrant out of Miami County. Dispatch advised he had an active warrant out of Miami and Shelby County. The Miami County warrant was confirmed and a deputy transported him to the Incarceration Facility.

THEFT: A deputy responded to a theft complaint in the 200 block of West Monument in Pleasant Hill. The complainant advised that a locked fence gate had been broken down some time on the evening of July 17. Two full gas cans were removed from the shed. The complainant advised her security cameras captured the incident and the suspect removing the gas cans from the shed. This case is pending further investigation.

ABANDONED BOAT: A deputy responded to the area of Rusk Road and Piqua-Troy Road in Staunton Twp. on a report of a boat in the roadway. Upon arrival, an 18-foot boat and trailer had been dumped in the road partially blocking the northbound lane of travel. The trailer had no tags and boat was missing its motor. The boats interior was missing and there were several bullet holes in the side. Randy’s Towing responded to the scene and removed the boat and trailer from the road.

July 25

JAIL INCIDENT: A deputy was requested to look into an incident that occurred at the Miami County Incarcerated Facility on July 22. The deputy was provided with copies of the Corrections Officer’s reports from the incident. It was determined a charge of criminal damaging will be filed on inmate Brandon Wellman.

K9 Detail: K9 Bear was walked through the Troy Library for a drug sniff at the request of the Library Director.

BURGLARY: A deputy responded to 6700 block of Thomas Road, Pleasant Hill, for a burglary complaint.

THEFT: A deputy responded to 12 S. Main Street in the Village of Pleasant Hill in reference to a theft complaint that had

occurred on Saturday. The suspect was located and later admitted to the theft after being presented with evidence. Suspect

was arrested and charged accordingly and incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.

ACCIDENT: Troy Police requested help with a serious injury accident. The deputy responded to the intersection of State Route 718 and Washington Road. A full size Chevrolet van was in the middle of the intersection and a motorcycle in the ditch on the north west corner. The cyclist was wearing a helmet, but sustained serious injuries to his leg and possible ruptured lung. Investigation is pending.

ACCIDENT: A deputy responded to the area of South State Route 48 and Fenner Road in Newton Township.

It was originally determined to be a large tree and wires down but upon further investigation, two vehicles were found trapped under the fallen tree with injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment.

RESCUE: Deputies responded to the 8000 block of Covington Gettysburg Road, Newberry Twp. on a report of an adult female who had fallen into a creek and could not be located by her friends.

The female was later located approximately 500 feet east of the location and was transported by Care Flight to Miami Valley Hospital.
