WACO Fly-In coming to Troy

TROY — The annual WACO Vintage Fly-In returns to Troy the weekend of Sept. 15-17. The event begins at 9 a.m. each days and will feature rides, exhibits, the parade of WACO aircraft, candy drop, auction and more.

Adults get in daily for $6, or get a weekend pass for $10; student prices are $3 for one day or $6 for a weekend pass. Children under 6 get in free.

Milton Memories to record

WEST MILTON — A Milton Memories oral history recording session, “Reflections,” will take place on Monday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m., at the West Milton Municipal Building on South Miami Street. The topic will be “Little Majors,” a drill team of girls with a section of drummers of elementary and middle school age. This would have been in the late ’60s into the early ’70s. The sessions are open to the public and audience participation is encouraged. The recording will be done by Tom Beck. For further information call Barb at (937) 698-6559.

Community Services collecting coats

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is now collecting new and gently used coats for families in need in Tipp City and Monroe Township. Items will be collected now through Nov. 1. Distribution will be on Nov. 4 at the TMCS office at 3 E. Main St. from 9 a.m. to noon.

Coats are accepted for all ages. Children’s sizes are especially needed. In addition, TMCS will take hats, gloves, thermal wear, snow suits and boots. Monetary donations are always accepted as well. Please make sure that all items are clean and ready to wear.
