Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
JAIL ISSUE: A deputy responded to the Incarceration Facility on N. County Road 25-A on a report of an assault involving two male inmates. Upon investigation, it was determined that Devin Meade assaulted Logan McFadden and stole property from him. Meade was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and one count of theft of property.
FLEEING AND ELUDING: A deputy heard Troy Police Department dispatched to a theft in progress at Kohls. Two black females left the store with several bags of merchandise. The deputy heard a Troy officer then get in a car pursuit with one of the suspects. One female fled westbound on Main Street then got onto I75 northbound. The driver struck a car while getting onto the on ramp to I75. Troy officers advised the car then went northbound in the southbound lanes. The vehicle then wrecked into a cornfield and the driver fled on foot.
The deputy observed a black female in all black clothing exit the corn field near the business “The Avenue” on Experiment Farm Road. The deputy confirmed with dispatch this was the description of the driver that fled. The female took off running southbound towards the entrance of the business. The deputy exited the cruiser and ran after the female giving her verbal commands to stop. The female was not complying with verbal commands. She then stopped near a truck but would not get on the ground. She would not let me get close to her and would run to the opposite side of the truck. The deputy pulled a Taser out and pointed at her when she ran around the truck again. The deputy gave verbal commands to get on the ground. She then complied and sat down on the ground. The deputy then secured her in handcuffs until Detective Wysong arrived on scene. She was then turned over to Officer Simpson with Troy Police Department. The female was identified as, Brittany Holland and found to have multiple warrants.
THEFT: A Concord Twp. resident in the area of 4th Street called to report the theft of his PS4 game station. The reporting party stated his girlfriend admitted to him she took it. He thinks she sold it for drugs.
SEX OFFENDER ISSUE: An investigation was started for a registered sex offender possibly not living at the address he claimed to be living in the 100 block of Merry Robin Road, Troy.
ACCIDENT: A deputy responded to an injury accident where the driver was reported to have been ejected from the vehicle in the 4000 block of State Route 41, Troy. The driver was transported to a hospital by CareFlight with serious injuries. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol.
DOG ISSUE: Responded to the 7600 block of Whispering Oaks, Monroe Twp., on a report of a barking dog. The reporting party advised this is an ongoing problem. The incident was investigated and the matter will be taken to the prosecutor for possible charges.
THEFTS: A deputy responded to a theft complaint in the 700 block of Burnside Drive in Monroe Twp. An unlocked
truck was opened and several items were taken. The complainant advised a pair of sunglasses and GPS were missing from
the vehicle. A deputy then responded to the 6800 block of Curtwood Drive, Tipp City, on a report of two vehicles entered overnight. A wallet was removed from one of the vehicles but was later located in the yard of another subject who also had his vehicle entered.
CROP DAMAGE: A farmer reported sometime between 3-8 p.m. an unknown person drove about 100 yards into his corn field off of Peters Road, Tipp City, damaging his crops.
WARRANT: A deputy made a traffic stop on the listed vehicle. At the conclusion of the investigation, the female passenger in the vehicle was arrested on an in county warrant.
THEFT: Deputies responded to the area of North Country Side Drive and Trailway, Troy, in reference to a theft of packages from a front porch. The suspect was located and arrested and placed in the Miami County Jail.
WARRANT: Deputies responded to the 7600 block of Mote Road, Union Twp., in reference to Norman Forsee being at the location and possibly having an active warrant. Mr. Forsee’s information was run through LEADS and it was discovered he had an active warrant out of Franklin County with a state wide pick up. UContact was made with Mr. Forsee and Dispatch confirmed the warrant. Mr. Forsee was placed into custody and he advised he needed medical attention. He was transported to UVMC where he was later discharged. Mr. Forsee was transported to the Miami County jail without incident.
SRO REQUEST: On the listed date K9 Bear was walked through Milton-Union Schools at the request of SRO Deputy R. Davidson.
K-9 SWEEP: At the request of Tipp City Police, a deputy walked K9 Bear through the Tipp High School parking lot.
SCHOOL INCIDENT: A deputy responded to the cafeteria area of the Upper Valley Career Center reference a fight in progress. The two subjects were already separated and placed in two different room. After talking with both students they were both charged with one count of disorderly conduct and suspended from school for five days.
DRUG OFFENSE: A purse containing several red capsules were seized while staff from the Miami County Jail was booking in Laura Maddy for probation violation. The contents of the red capsules are unknown.
WEAPONS FOUND IN JAIL: Homemade knives (shanks) were located in cell block 302 of the Miami County Jail during a shake down search. The knives were seized and an investigation is pending.
SOLICITORS: A resident in the 2000 block of Shenandoah, Concord Twp. called and reported a female going door to door trying to sell items. She advised that the female was very pushy trying to come inside the residence. The deputy located the female at the entrance of Shenandoah walking up to a door. The deputy identified the female as Brianna Creech. She was trying to sell Pet ID tags and magazines. She did not have any business card or business information. She also did not have a permit to solicit in Concord Township. She was advised to leave the area and not return without a permit.
THEFT: A deputy responded to the 4500 block of Rudy Road, Tipp City, in reference to a theft complaint. The items stolen were located at several Pawn Shops and holds were placed on the items.
SEX OFFENDER ISSUE: A deputy was checking the residence of the registered sex offender in the 100 block of East Main Street, Piqua. During the investigation, it was discovered the suspect no longer lives at the residence.
TAX DRIVER ISSUE: Deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of Troy-Sidney Road, Piqua, on a suspicious priority call. After further investigation, the incident turned out to be a theft complaint from a taxi driver. A suspect was identified and arrested on theft charges. The suspect was also arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Colorado and incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.
