Boo Bash 2017 to feature mummy competition

TROY — Would your child like to participate in the America’s Next Top Toilet Paper Mummy Competition hosted by the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28?

Participation in this contest is free, but pre-registration is required for contestants. There are a limited number of openings and registration is first come, first served. An adult must register contestants by calling Leona at (937) 339-0457.

The competition is open to children ages 7 to 12. Each participant may have one or two people help them “get their mummy” designed and on. The mummy costumes must be designed from two rolls of toilet paper that will be supplied.

Contestants should arrive at the Hayner Center to begin constructing their mummy costume at 12:30 p.m. Judging will take place during a toilet paper mummy fashion show during the Boo Bash at 1:15 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three toilet paper mummies.

The Boo Bash is a free family event that includes games, crafts, refreshments, a scavenger hunt, Halloween stories, a Monster Mash Dance, America’s Next Top Toilet Paper Mummy Fashion Show, and magic and music with Aleksander the Magnificent. Boo Bash 2017 will take place from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
