TIPP CITY — Christmas is coming and the Needy Basket Committee is again planning to deliver Christmas baskets to make the holidays a little brighter for families that may be facing financial difficulties this year.
Families will receive food items to prepare a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, toys for younger children, gift cards for older children, and clothing vouchers from the Clothesline for the whole family.
Food and toy collection barrels and monetary donation canisters will be located in many local businesses during the holiday season to help support this effort. Through the continuing generosity and support of the Tipp City Community, Needy Basket has been able to keep this project going for 71 years.
Applications to receive a Christmas basket may be obtained at Needy Basket’s 330 A S. Fifth St. location, rear entrance, or by calling (937) 667-1977. Deadline for application is Nov. 27 and applicants must reside in Tipp City, Monroe Township, or Bethel Township.
Volunteer drivers with trucks or vans will once again be needed to deliver the baskets on Saturday, Dec. 16, starting at 8:30 a.m. Coffee, juice and donuts will be served, so please come and help Needy Basket spread some Christmas cheer to families in the community.
Volunteers are also needed year-round. The work isn’t hard and volunteers have a lot of fun working with and supporting their Tipp City neighbors. Call (937) 667-1977 for more information.
