TROY —Troy City Schools officials announced they will be closing the Troy High School and Troy Junior High on Monday due to a bomb threat found late Friday afternoon at the high school.
According to Supt. Eric Herman, the high school buildings were open all weekend with various activities and were unable to conduct a clean sweep of the school. Herman said school officials will lock down the high school tomorrow and have
bomb sniffing dogs search the schools. The threat, found in the high school’s boys bathroom at the end of the day Friday, said a bomb would go off around 8 a.m. Monday.
Herman said officials weighed their options and decided to close school late Sunday.
“Our students’ safety is our number one priority,” Herman said.
School officials are working to find out who was responsible for the threat and will tighten up its hall pass policy when doors open Tuesday.
All elementary schools and Van Cleve Sixth Grade will remain open and on schedule.
