TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe Educational Endowment is excited to introduce the community to Tipp’s Top Secret Tour.
“This is a great opportunity to take a stroll through Tipp City’s hidden treasures. Whether a long time resident or new to our city, be ready to be charmed by the special stories our town has to tell,” co-organizer Asha Vyas said.
TEE, along with the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, is hosting the tour on Oct. 3, 2015 from 4-7 p.m.
Tipp City has a rich architectural legacy, industrial heritage, and historic properties. The tour allows visitors to get behind the scenes of some of the community’s oldest buildings. “In fact, you might go below to an area you didn’t know existed or above to area that now has a new use,” Vyas said.
There are 12 secret stops on the tour. The organizing committee sought out locations with a rich, interesting history that are part of Tipp’s unique past. At one time, many of these locations were main attractions to the residents and very much a part of everyday life. Some of the stops of the tour are within the walls of today’s popular businesses.
“Volunteers will be readily available to share information and a story or two about each of the secret treasures,” Co-organizer Jenny Anticoli said. Refreshments also will be served.
Proceeds benefit the Tippecanoe Educational Endowment, an organization dedicated to providing grants to Tipp City Schools for field trips, programming, technology, equipment, and enrichment programs.
