Fire spreads through corn field


Dave Fornell for the Troy Daily News The Troy Fire Department was dispatched to what was called a small grass fire, around 2:30 Saturday afternoon near Fenner and Wilson Roads in Concord Township. On arrival, they found that a stiff wind was spreading the fire through a large field of cut corn, pushing it toward an unharvested bean field. Mutual aid was summoned from Covington, Elizabeth Township, Pleasant Hill, Laura, West Milton and Tipp City, which supplied additional grass trucks and tankers.
