TROY — Many of us experience the day-to-day rush and hustle of needing to get from one place to another quickly. Often, many people don’t have time to cook and need to grab food on the go.

To help those needing a bite to eat, popular restaurant La Fiesta has opened La Fiesta Express across the street at 1122 W. Main St. in Troy.

According to La Fiesta Manager Miriam Grunkemeyer, La Fiesta Express opened three weeks ago and has an open food selection bar where customers can see the menu offerings, pick what they want, and have it wrapped and go.

“Over there, we wanted to make something for our customers that do not have a lot of time to stop by here for lunch or dinner,” she said. “If they’re in a rush or don’t have time or need to get on their way.”

The menu at La Fiesta Express is more limited than the dine-in restaurant, although most of the items are similar to what the restaurant currently offers.

Currently, the La Fiesta Express drive-through is being worked on and is projected to open this upcoming week.

“Once the drive-through is open for late night, the hours will be a little different,” she said.

Currently, La Fiesta Express opens at 11 a.m. and stays open until 10 p.m. on weeknights.

Grunkemeyer said La Fiesta gets excellent business and is hopeful that La Fiesta Express will get more business, adding to that the response has been very satisfactory and more than what they have expected.

“Invite everybody to come over here to check it out,” she said. “We think that they will like it. The feedback we have gotten from everyone has been great.”
