MONROE TOWNSHIP — The Monroe Township Trustees passed several resolutions at the Nov. 16 meeting that set rental rates for township properties and cemetery purchases in 2016.
The township properties include the downtown building office suites and basement rentals and the Maple Hill residential rental where the rental rates will remain unchanged from the 2015 rates. The other motion covered 2016 cemetery rates for the purchase of graves, burials, foundations and related items or services and these rates will remain unchanged from the published 2015 rates.
In other business, the board passed an agreement to continue a service by TruGreen for spraying of trees on township property; and for the township to pay the bills totaling $17,338.71.
The maintenance and road crew continues to keep a check on issues on township roads during high wind periods, repair of township trucks and equipment before winter sets in, and pinning the newest section to Maple Hill Cemetery so mapping can begin for Section 8.
The board continues to address complaints by township residents over increased and speeding truck traffic on Evanston and Michaels roads. The trustees are reaching out to the Miami County Engineer’s office and the county sheriff’s department, hoping for a resolution soon to these issues.
Upcoming meetings for the trustees include hosting the next Tri-Agency meeting on Monday, Nov. 30, and their next public meeting 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 in the township’s meeting room, 6 E. Main St., Tipp City. As a reminder, the township offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
