TROY — The Troy Police Department is still investigating an armed robbery at the Abbey Credit Union located in the 1300 block of Wayne Street at 10:57 a.m. Friday morning.

According to Captain Jeff Kunkleman, the detective division is currently looking for the suspect based on leads and the photo of the subject caught on surveillance cameras.

The subject is described as a white male, in his 30s, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and black beanie. The subject left the scene as a passenger in a 2013-2014 dark colored Honda Civic. He allegedly handed a note to a teller which indicated he was armed and demanded money.

No one was injured in the incident. Heywood Elementary School was placed on lock down during the initial call, which was been lifted once the scene was cleared.

This is the third time the bank has been robbed. The last incident was May 19.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of the suspect, call 339-7525 ext. 401 or Miami County Communication Center at 440-9911.
