MIAMI COUNTY — A Troy teen turned himself in after he was reported missing on Jan. 1 by his parents.
The 15 year-old male juvenile was turned over to Miami County Sheriff’s Office authorities by his mother around midnight on Thursday.
City of Troy police assisted deputies to detain the juvenile. The juvenile was reported in the area of Staunton Commons several times prior to his arrest.
During a search of his belongings, beer and a marijuana pipe were found in his backpack. Those items were seized.
The teen was then transported to West Central.
He was charged with unruly behavior.
According to Miami County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dave Duchak, the teen was staying with other juveniles during his six-day disappearance. Duchak said the teen was on juvenile probation and fled around the time he was to appear for an appointment with his officer.
Duchak said there was no other adult involvement in his disappearance.
No further charges are expected to be filed at this time
