PLEASANT HILL — The Newton Local School Board of Education held its annual reorganizational meeting on Wednesday.

In the reorganizational meeting, Nate Oburn took the oath of office for his third term. Tonia Schauer was sworn in as the newly elected board member. Former board member Dave Welbaum did not run and Schauer filled his seat.

The board elected Nate Oburn as president of the board and Candi Alexander was elected as vice president. The regular monthly meeting day and time was approved to be the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.. in the Board Room beginning in the month of February 2016 unless otherwise stipulated.

The board also approved to continue board member reimbursement of $50 per meeting for up to 16 meetings per year. Board members will be reimbursed for each meeting attended as provided by Ohio Revised Code.

In its regular meeting, the board approved the following supplement contracts: Nathan Kopp — Varsity Baseball Coach; Greg Kopp — Assistant Baseball Coach; Jordan Kopp — JV Baseball Coach; Mark Gibson – Varsity Softball Coach; Tina Mollette – Assistant Varsity Softball Coach; Katie Stewart — Volunteer Varsity Softball Coach; Taylor Stevens – JH Softball Coach; Kelly Dunlevy – Volunteer JH Softball Coach; Nick Rhoades — Varsity Track Coach; Lisa Hildebrand – Volunteer V/JH Track Coach; Tiffany McBride — Assistant Varsity Track Coach; and Aubrey Hughes — JH Track Coach.
