WEST MILTON — Investigators are treating a house fire that occured early Tuesday morning as a possible arson.
“It is obviously suspicious in nature,” Miami County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Chris Bobb said.
A sheriff’s deputy arrived at the scene around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning after a neighbor reported seeing smoke and flames. Emergency crews from West Milton, Ludlow Falls, and Laura responded to the vacant home in the 3400 block of Iddings Road.
Several different points of origin — where it appears fires were started — around the property led investigators to believe the blaze was intentionally set.
“There were some inside, there were some outside, but they were kind of spread out,” Bobb said. “It was obviously intentional.”
No injuries were reported and the extent of the damage is currently unknown.
According to Bobb, crews were dispatched again Tuesday evening when it appeared that the fire could start back up.
