Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
OVI: A deputy made contact with the listed vehicle at 1800 Towne Park Drive, Troy, for a suspicious nature. The deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as Amber J Lacy. After further investigation Ms. Lacy was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for OVI.
BUDLIGHT IN THE MOONLIGHT: A deputy was on foot patrol on the Dye Mill Rd bike trail by the foundation bridge. The deputy visually observed a male and a female by the river, under the bridge, with blue drinking cans in their hands. The deputy made contact with these two subjects. The deputy could visually see two open Bud Light beer cans by a subject who identified himself as Benjamin Heffington. The deputy also saw a open Bud Light beer can right beside a woman who identified herself as Lisa Slaughter.
The deputy questioned both Mr. Heffington and Ms. Slaughter about the open beer cans. Both Mr. Heffington and Ms. Slaughter admitted to drinking the alcohol and stated that they did not know it was illegal. The deputy visually observed nine unopened Bud Light beer cans in a cooler by Mr. Heffington. All the alcohol was poured out and Mr. Heffington and Ms. Slaughter then followed the deputy to the patrol vehicle. The deputy then issued Mr. Heffington and Ms. Slaughter a citation for Open Container and informed them of their court date. Both parties were then released without further incident.
WARRANT SERVED: A deputy made contact with the driver who was identified as Robin Denniston. After further investigation it was found that Mr. Denniston had a warrant for his arrest out of Montgomery County. The warrant was confirmed and the deputy transported Mr. Denniston to the county line and he was turned over to Huber Heights PD.
POSSESSION: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for an equipment violation at the dead end of Maxwell Ct. Tipp City. The deputy made contact with the driver and registered owner Matthew A. Hartman. After further investigation, Hartman was issued a citation for no plate light, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released at the scene.
DUS: While patrolling in the area of State Route 571 and Pisgah Road, a deputy observed the listed vehicle traveling west bound on State Route 571. The deputy observed the listed vehicle not having a front license plate displayed and executed a traffic stop on the listed vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Brandon Sanford. While running Brandon through the data system, the deputy observed Brandon’s operators license being suspended. Brandon was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle while being suspended. Brandon was released to a valid driver.
WARRANT: A deputy stopped the listed vehicle for a moving violation. The deputy identified the driver as, Lawrence Gardner and passenger as, Tyrone Kinney. After running both subject through the data system, the deputy found that Mr. Kinney had an active warrant out of Shelby County. The warrant was confirmed by dispatch and Mr. Kinney was placed in custody. At the request of Shelby County he was transported to the Miami County jail and incarcerated without incident.
SEX OFFENDER LOCATED: Three deputies arrived at the 2000 block of State Route 40, Bethel Township, to locate Terry Jaynes who has five active warrants out of Miami County for theft, parole violation, sex offender failing to register and two assaults. The deputies then knocked on this residence where we were informed that Mr. Jaynes was inside. Once inside the residence Mr. Jaynes walked down stairs. The deputies then informed Mr. Jaynes of his active warrants and placed him into hand cuffs and then patted down Mr. Jaynes for weapons and placed him in the back seat of the cruiser. Dispatch then confirmed the active warrants on Mr. Jaynes. Mr. Jaynes was making suicidal comments saying he wanted to kill himself and said he was in need of medical attention. The deputy then transported Mr. Jaynes to Upper Valley Medical Center for a evaluation.
