Health Partners awarded grant
TROY — Health Partners Free Clinic, located in Troy, has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the long supporting, Troy Foundation recently. The generous grant will provide funds for clinic officials to cover operational costs.
Health Partners was incorporated in 1998 and is the lone free medical clinic for Miami County residents. Volunteer professional staff members provide free health care for uninsured and under-insured residents.
Health Partners Executive Director Justin Coby reports, that in 2014, clinic volunteers cared for 1,137 unduplicated patients in providing 4,263 medical visits. They also dispensed 13,730 prescriptions valued at more than $2 million; and provided 3,037 diagnostic/lab tests.
Coby said the grant allows the medical staff to continue patient care for Miami County citizens at both scheduled appointments and walk-in clinic times. Other services include nursing visits, prescription assistance, diagnostic/lab testing, and social service consults.
Art pieces needed
TIPP CITY — It’s not too late to get your creative juices flowing and submit your 6-by-6 creation for the Tipp City Area Arts Council’s “ART for ALL” event, which will be held on Aug. 22 at Sudgen’s in Tipp City.
All submissions of original art — including children’s art, amateur, and professional art — will be accepted until July 27 at Tipp Monroe Community Services on 3 E. Main St., Tipp City, for this event. Not only will you get the chance to feature and promote your art, our guests will have the opportunity to purchase art at affordable prices, and all proceeds will go to TCAAC to provide essential financial support for their numerous community projects such as the Canal Music Festival and Children’s Art Adventure.
There is no entry fee for submission and three People’s Choice Awards will be presented at the reception.
