Archery class offered

PIQUA — The Miami County Park District will hold its Holiday Archery program Saturday at Garbry Big Woods Reserve, 6660 Casstown-Sidney Road, east of Piqua.

The class will be held at the following times: from 9-10:15 a.m., from 10:30-11:45 a.m., from 12:30-1:45 p.m., from 2-3:15 p.m. and from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Celebrate upcoming holidays by shooting at themed targets. There will be targets for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. Equipment provided. A prerequisite is the Beginning Archery class. Class size limited. Pre-registration required. Class fee $10.

Memory symposium set

TROY — StoryPoint Troy will offer a Memory Matters Symposium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at The Crystal Room, 845 W. Market St., Troy.

The event will focus on living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, and Amanda Bulgarelli will be the speaker.

Purse bingo upcoming

PIQUA — Purse bingo to benefit Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sepy. 28 at the Miami Valley Centre Mall.

Tickets for the event are limited and cost $25, or $30 at the door on the day of the event. Ticketholders receive a small Vera Bradley gift and are entered to win an authentic Vera Bradley purse and more than 20 other prizes.

The event also includes a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, raffle and refreshments. Tickets are available at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, 550 Summit Ave., Suite 101, Troy, and For All Seasons at 2 W. Main St., Troy.

Tour of homes planned

TROY — The 27th annual Tour of Troy Homes, sponsored by the Museum of Troy History, will be from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 8.

The tour includes four homes in the Southwest Historic District. Tickets can be obtained from any board member, by calling 339-5155 or at the Museum of Troy History from 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at 124 E. Water St. Tickets are $10.

Bat program to be at BNC

TROY — Join Brukner Nature Center staff from 2-4 p.m. Oct 15 to learn all about Ohio’s bats and help the Ohio species by building a bat box for your home.

There are more 1,000 species of bats in the world, and Ohio is home to 11 of them.

Call to register and reserve a bat box kit for $30 by Saturday at 5 p.m. This program is free for BNC members and just $5 for nonmembers. Cash or check only.
