Indoor soccer set at Troy Rec

TROY — The Troy Rec will offer two sessions of indoor soccer in 2018; one for pre-k/kindergarten and one for first/second grade students. Registration will take place at The Rec, 11 N. Market St. on the following days and times: Dec. 4-7 from 4-7 p.m.; Dec. 11-14 from 4-7 p.m.; and Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fee for each student is $35 and includes a team T-shirt, team picture and award. Payment is due at registration.

First and second grade session will practice and play in January and February.

Pre-K and Kindergarten (4 years to kindergarten) session will practice and play in February and March.

Y offers SNL event

PIQUA — The Miami County YMCA Piqua Branch is offering a Saturday Night Live Event on Saturday, Dec. 9 for youth in Kindergarten through sixth grade.

This will be a fun-filled night with swimming, gym games, and the Youth Center. Pizza and lemonade will be served at the Youth Center. Drop off begins at 7 p.m. and pick up is at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Register at the Piqua branch or over the phone at 773-9622.

Photo contest deadline looms

TROY — Get your cameras ready for Brukner Nature Center’s Ninth annual Photo Contest “It’s About Wildlife” coming to the Heidelberg Auditorium this winter.

Whether your photos are from your backyard or North American travels, show how they support BNC’s slogan — “It’s about Wildlife!”

Visit the center’s website or stop by the main building to pick up a brochure with full contest details. This event is open to all photographers of all ages.

Entries are now being accepted through Dec. 11. All photographs displayed will be for sale, but may not be picked up until March 15.

A 25 percent commission on sales will benefit BNC’s mission to promote wildlife conservation through environmental education.
