TROY — Al Anderson of Troy was inducted into the American Political Items Collectors Hall of Fame during the APIC’s national convention in Denver in early August.
The American Political Items Collectors is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the collection, preservation and study of materials relating to political campaigns, the presidency, causes and American historical events. It was founded in 1945 and includes members from all 50 states. The group holds its national convention once every two years.
Anderson has been collecting political memorabilia for more than 55 years and founded his political memorabilia business, Anderson Americana, in 1972.
His collection has been featured in numerous regional and national publications. He is widely considered by collectors as one of the leading experts on American political memorabilia. He joins a select group of APIC members who have been honored by membership in the group’s hall of fame.
