Tent will help direct cemetery visitors

MONROE TOWNSHIP — Monroe Township will again set up an information tent at Maple Hill Cemetery just before Memorial Day weekend. This information tent will be open Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for township staff to answer questions and provide directions to grave sites for cemetery visitors. The grounds staff has also been busy prepping the township cemeteries for the Memorial Day activities and ceremonies slated for this annual holiday, as well as for the annual Cemetery Walk at Maple Hill Cemetery on Sunday, June 4, with a rain date of Sunday, June 14.

In business, the board approved bill payments totaling $25, 805.37, and heard a request for use of township tables and chairs during this year’s Tipp City Art Adventure, the first Saturday in August. The board also heard the Deercliff Run Neighborhood Alliance presentation of its mission statement and the group’s concerns and questions about the subdivision’s road and curb conditions.

The township will be hosting the next Tri-Agency meeting on Tuesday, May 30 at 6 p.m. between the township, and members of the Tipp City Council and Tipp City School Board.

Township offices and facilities will be closed Monday, May 29 in honor of Memorial Day. The township board will meet next at 7 p.m. Monday, June 5 in the meeting room located at 6 E. Main St., Tipp City.
