TROY — Acoustic guitars with three-, four- and five-part vocal harmonies will fill Prouty Plaza in downtown Troy on Friday as The Fries Band takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. The band is back by popular demand for the Troy Summer Music Series, a free, outdoor music initiative.
The show is free and open to the public. Guests should bring chairs or blankets for seating.
Well-known in the Dayton area, The Fries Band started out in 1989 as an acoustic trio called “The French Fries. Over the years, the group has evolved into the current five-member band. They have been entertaining for packed houses all over the region and beyond for the past 20 years with their unique and engaging treatment of popular and obscure cover songs from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. They blend complex vocal harmonies driven by acoustic guitars with keyboards, bass, and drums to re-create very distinctive musical arrangements of bands like the Eagles, the Beatles, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, America, Jimmy Buffett, the Beach Boys and others.
