DARKE COUNTY - A man was hospitalized after flipping his vehicle Monday afternoon on an icy roadway east of Greenville.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office a male driver was traveling westbound on the 7500 block of State Route 571 East when he lost control of his Chevrolet Blazer. The SUV left the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle exposed to the sub-zero elements while waiting for emergency personnel to extricate him from the vehicle.

The man was transported to Wayne HealthCare with non-life-threatening injuries. The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Darke County was under a Level 2 Snow Advisory at the time of the crash.
