Festival officials will begin setting up for this year’s festival downtown today and want to remind all strawberry lovers to leave Fido at home.
This year, as part of the ordinance passed by Troy City Council, no dogs will be allowed in the downtown festival areas throughout the weekend. The only exception is for certified service animals.
The 2014 Troy Strawberry Festival committees begin set-up today so downtown residents and business employees may need to walk a little farther to get home or to work for the weekend.
Street closures will begin at 6 a.m. today for the downtown Square’s quadrants.
The set-up and actual festival will necessitate some street closures and the use of select parking spaces for the festival, said Troy Strawberry Festival chairman Kathi Roetter.
