TROY — The United Way thermometer is about to take its place of prominence on Prouty Plaza.
United Way of Troy will hold its 2014 campaign kick-off at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 5 on Prouty Plaza in downtown Troy.
Executive director Richard Bender will be joined by campaign co-chairs Rob Davis and Maurice Sadler, United Way board members, community leaders, local agency representatives and supporters at the annual celebration.
United Way of Troy met and exceeded its 2013 campaign goal of $808,000 with the support of the donors of Troy. These funds were allocated amongst the United Way of Troy’s 28 member health and human service partner agencies. Funds were also distributed as community impact grants to fourteen area agencies that are impacting the community in one of three focus areas: education, health and financial stability.
In the face of record need for assistance; the 2014 campaign goal is set at $810,000. Funds will once again be allocated amongst member agencies and to community impact programs.
Neighbors, volunteers and donors are invited to join United Way and member agencies in the celebration.
