MIAMI COUNTY — A Troy man entered a plea of no contest to an amended charge of gross sexual imposition in Miami County Common Pleas Court on Thursday.
David Ratcliff, 62, of Troy, entered the plea of no contest as part of a plea agreement with the state to dismiss two counts of first degree felony rape.
Ratcliff was orginally indicted on three counts of first degree felony rape.
Miami County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeannine Pratt accepted Ratcliff’s plea of no contest before finding Ratcliff guilty of one count of an amended charge of third degree felony gross sexual imposition.
On or around April 1 through May 30, 2015, Ratcliff inappropriately touched a female child under the age of 13 while in Ratcliff’s care.
Ratcliff could be sentenced to serve a mandatory sentence of up to 60 months in prison for the crime. He also could be fined up to $10,000.
Upon Ratcliff’s release he must serve five years of post release control and will register as a Tier II sex offender.
Judge Pratt ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set Ratcliff’s sentencing for March 14.
