TROY — The man who stabbed another male at the McKaig Garden apartment complex on Wednesday faces a new charge in the incident.

Aaron Jones, 21, of Troy, was incarcerated for second degree felonious assault at the Miami County Jail on Wednesday following the incident. His bond was set at $1 million at his arraignment on Thursday.

Troy Police Department also charged Jones with one count of aggravated menacing on Thursday. He will be arraigned on the charge on Friday.

According to reports, Jones had been packing his belongings at his girlfriend’s apartment Wednesday morning. His girlfriend had the victim, Craig Conway, 34, of Troy, come over to the apartment where he and Jones were involved in an altercation.

Conway sustained serious injuries to his left hand and was later transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. After the altercation, Jones fled the apartment, running through Hobart Urban Nature Preserve where he was apprehended by police at the east end of the park. Overfield Elementary School was placed on lockdown during the incident. Police located the weapon, a pocket knife, in the backyard of a home along Dorset.
