TROY — Troy City Schools and Troy Christians Schools are teaming up to send emergency supplies to South Carolina flood victims on Thursday.
The Troy Christian School stadium parking lot will be a drop off location for supplies from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 8. Officials kindly request that the community does not bring the items to the school during school hours and to be cautious of students leaving campus.
Our kids safety is the most important,” said parent organizer Shanda Sloan-Stammen. “We have a lot of people wanting to donate which is absolutely awesome, but also want to make sure we keep our kids safe. Thanks again for everyone who wants to help.”
Troy High School teacher Scot Brewer will be traveling to South Carolina to drop off both schools’ donations. The Troy High School Student Government is collecting supplies for Mr. Brewer to take with him.
If the public would like to drop off items, a drop-off location will be held beginning at 3 p.m. at the Hobart Arena’s parking lot near the river levee.
Suggested items include: bottled water, baby supplies such as diapers, formula, jarred foods, toiletries such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine care, etc., blankets and other emergency items.
Donations will only be accepted on Thursday.
