Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
PUPPY SCAM:A deputy was dispatched to a fraud complaint and met with a Tipp City woman who stated that she thinks she was scammed. The reporting party stated that she had recently attempted to purchase a tea cup Pomeranian online. She stated that she sent a money order to man named “Jonathan” from Philadelphia, Pa. for $810. She still has not received the dog. The reporting party asked for the incident to be documented and was provided a report number.
ASSAULT: A deputy was dispatched to the downtown Miami County Jail reference an assault on a corrections officer. The deputy was informed that a corrections officer was assaulted by Leslie Wilhelm. Leslie spit blood on the officer while confined in the Miami County Jail.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of James Street, Bradford, on a criminal damage complaint. The deputy made contact with the reporting party, who stated sometime between 10 p.m. Oct. 29 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 30 someone had busted his garage window. The reporting party stated he arrived home at 7 a.m. this morning and saw pumpkins busted throughout his yard. He then went to his garage and noticed that his yard roller had been moved. He advised that the yard roller weighed approximately 700 lbs. He stated that he then noticed that a window on his detached garage had been busted out.
MENACING: A deputy was dispatched to a menacing complaint. The deputy made contact with the reporting party who stated that approximately 6:50 a.m. someone had tried to hit him with a vehicle. He stated that he went for a run on Thomas Road, Concord Township, running eastbound when a vehicle was driving westbound swerved over in attempt to strike him. He stated the vehicle started honking their horn then drove across the road to swerve towards him. The only information the reporting party could give me about the vehicle was that it was possibly a white Kia Soul.
The reporting party stated that this was not the first time that the vehicle has attempted this. He stated that it has done this several times. He advised that the vehicle usually drives on Thomas Road around 6:30 a.m. and he has adjusted his running schedule to avoid the vehicle. At this time there are no suspects.
