TROY — Hobart Arena is a happening place this time of year.
Public skates, hockey games, big concerts scheduled in the upcoming months — but local skaters will be the main attraction this Saturday.
The Troy Skating Club Holiday Exhibition will showcase skaters from all over the Miami Valley, who will perform routines to holiday music starting at 6:30 p.m. that night.
“It’s just going to be a fun little event for them to show what they can do and have fun skating to some holiday music,” Troy Skating Club director Trey Ehre said.
There will be roughly 30 skaters, between the ages of 5-35, performing routines — including Ehre, a former professional skater, who will open the event with a solo routine. Ehre said the event should last about an hour, with a public skating session being held after from 8-10 p.m. There are also several public skate sessions scheduled between now and the end of December.
“We invite people to come see the exhibition and stay around for the open skate. It’s just a fun way to feel the holiday spirit,” Ehre said.
