• CHICKEN AND PORK: The Troy Lions Club and the Troy Church of the Brethren will jointly hold a chicken barbecue and pulled pork sandwich dinner. Main St., from 4-6 p.m. Dinners include choice of a half chicken or large pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and homemade coleslaw. Martin has devoted nearly three decades to researching, editing, and publishing the forgotten manuscripts of Paul Lawrence Dunbar. His goal is to demonstrate how prophetic Dunbar was through the reading of his poems. There will be a question and answer session after the Dunbar reading. Martin will conclude the evening with a reading from his own newest book of poems, “On the Flyleaf.”
