MONROE TOWNSHIP — Tall grass and vegetation complaints handled by Monroe Township this summer were discussed at the Aug. 4 meeting, and it was noted the deadline to turn in the township’s cost for resolving those complaints is the first working Monday in September. Thereby, the township has until Sept. 8 to report the cost to the Miami County Auditor’s office so these charges can be assessed against the property owners tax duplicate as a lien. A report by the township fiscal officer on this will be submitted to the trustees prior to the September deadline.

In other business, the trustees approved the financial status reports ending July 2014 and the bank reconciliation reports of June 30 as presented by the fiscal officer. The board also agreed to pay the bills totaling $55,038.04.

On Aug. 11 at 6 p.m., the Monroe Township Water and Sewer District is set to meet in the township’s meeting room of 6 E. Main Street. The public is invited to this monthly meeting.

The Monroe Township Trustees are readying to man the Miami County Fair township fair booth on Aug. 13 from 4-9 p.m.

A reminder to local residents includes the Farmer’s Market each Saturday in August from 9 a.m. to noon in downtown Tipp City; and about various road closures on S. County Road 25-A and Shoop Road, both only lasting for a brief period.

The township road and maintenance staff continues with mowing and repairs at the township cemeteries.

The next meeting held by the township trustees will be Monday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m.
