Staff Reports

Last Saturday, Troy Police Department investigate a report of four black men that allegedly chased a juvenile on his bicycle in the area of Cookson Elementary School. According to the report, one of the suspects brandished a gun to the juvenile and tried to steal the juvenile’s bicycle.

The 10 year-old male victim said he was confronted by a group of people on their bikes and on foot while riding his bicycle in the area. The victim then said that one of the kids on the bicycle pulled a gun on him and said, “Give me your (expletive) bike.”

On Monday, city of Troy School Resource Officers located several of the male juvenile suspects for interviews.

One of the subjects denied ever having a firearm on him but stated that he owns an air soft gun that does not look real at all. It was undetermined if a gun was ever brandished during the incident. Troy Police Department called the juvenile prosecutor and provided details of the case. The prosecutor stated that disorderly charges would be appropriate for the juvenile who threatened the 10 year-old, due to the fact that he scared the victim to such a state that Troy Police Department were involved.

The 16-year-old male juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct and the charge forwarded to the Miami County Juvenile Court.
