TROY — The Troy Fire Department is still investigating what caused a fire at 390 W. Peterson Road, Troy, on Thursday.

According to Troy Fire Department Assistant Chief Gary Stanley, the fire is still under investigation and arson has not been ruled out.

A passer-by reported the fire at 8 p.m. Thursday evening. The home had been vacant for several years.

A buyer recently purchased the home two weeks ago, yet it was not occupied.

The fire caused approximately $4,000 in damage.
