COVINGTON — Dorothy Ray Hollopeter, 79, of Covington, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Slocum, Alabama on December 23, 1933, to the (late) Grady & Gladys (Windham) Shields; was a past employee at Covington Elementary School Cafeteria and also Uhlman’s in Piqua. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jackie Eugene Hollopeter in 1974; great-granddaughter, Harper Ray Weaver; two brothers, M.J. Shield, & J.C. Shield; and two sisters, Louise Shield & Linda Shields. Dorothy is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Rick Hollopeter of Bradford, Glen & Kay Hollopeter of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Judy & Larry Rosengarten of Covington; nine grandchildren, Mike & Angie Rosengarten, Casey & Deirdre Rosengarten, Julie & Brad Weaver, Anissa Hollopeter, Jack Luke Hollopeter, Aaron Hollopeter, Rebekah & Dan Shafer, Jenny Martin, & Anna Snyder; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Gene Shields of Bonifay, FL; sister, Margaret Fulford of Hartford, Alabama; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held noon Saturday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Interment Greenville Creek Cemetery, Bradford.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. Saturday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covington Rescue Squad, Stillwater Community Church, or Hospice of Miami County. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
