To the Editor:
It is nice that the food pantry in Troy has been able to move to a larger place. The biggest problem is the parking situation. The street in front of the building has a painted yellow curb. I for one must ask why would they choose this location, when a large majority of the people that go there cannot walk from the half block parking lots that the building offers.
I myself asked the director if she was going to get in touch with the city about getting the curb parking changed and the response I got was “It is on my agenda.”
I am sure all who read this will agree all it takes is a phone call, which I am going to do and I hope there are more that will do the same. There are some that can do the walking with no problem, but I have a lot of trouble and I noticed there are others having the same problem, too.
Let’s all try and help with this. I am not asking for the whole street, just a small area where we can park long enough to get help.
